Guest Speaker: Trevor Sykes
Topic: Can the GFC Happen Again?
Trevor Sykes was one of Australia’s leading finance journalists until his retirement at the end of 2005. He has been Editor of The Bulletin, Editor-in-Chief of Australian Business magazine, assistant editor of the Australian Financial Review and Melbourne Bureau Chief of the Australian Financial Review. He is also the creator of the well-known Pierpont column which he has been writing– in the guise of a cynical old clubman – for 39 years: still appearing monthly in the Financial Review. Trevor is the author of eight books about Australian financial scandals. He has also won six national awards for finance reporting. He is currently a member of the SA Mining & Petroleum Expert Group (SAMPEG) which promotes resource development in that state. He is also Patron of the Sydney Mining Club.
