Invitation

On behalf of the Australasian Pharmaceutical Science Association (APSA), we invite you to participate in the 2011 APSA Annual Conference, to be held in Adelaide at the University of South Australia, City East Campus.

The Conference will be held from Sunday, 11 December to Wednesday, 14 December 2011, and is the major gathering of pharmacy and pharmaceutical science academics and researchers from Australia and New Zealand.

APSA members and Conference delegates have a diverse range of expertise, and have a commitment to teaching and research in the areas of pharmaceutical sciences, clinical sciences and pharmacy practice. This year’s Conference will continue to promote the research activities and achievements of honours and post-graduate students, and we expect them to have a
strong presence at the Conference.

Our Conference program will address the theme ‘Science Informing Practice, Practice Informing Science’. The highlight of the Conference promises to be the presentations by Professor Edzard Ernst (Peninsula Medical School, Universities of Exeter and Plymouth), who is widely acknowledged as a world leader in the evidence basis of complementary medicines. Other highlights include Professor Ian Olver (CEO of Cancer Council Australia) and Dr Mukesh Haikerwal AO (former head of the Australian Medical Association and Commissioner to the National Health and Hospitals Reform Commission).

Our social program aims to showcase some South Australian food and wine icons, and offers ample opportunity for Conference delegates to network in a relaxed atmosphere.

The venue for the Conference is the University of South Australia, City East Campus, which is conveniently located in the Adelaide CBD; several shops, cafés and restaurants are in close proximity, as are other attractions such as the Adelaide Zoo, Adelaide Oval and the National Wine Centre.
