Join in the conversation
The 3rd International Conference on Marine Mammal Protected Areas invites you to join the conversation using Twitter in the lead up to, during and post-conference.
The conference organizers have established a Twitter hashtag to encourage comment and feedback on the conference. Just by adding the hashtag #ICMMPA3 to your tweets and following this hashtag during the conference you will be able to be in direct contact, not only with the conference organisers, but also other conference delegates.
We hope you take the opportunity to tell us about your experience at the conference, what you like and feel could be improved as well as what you'd like to see at future conferences, special events and initiatives that could be hosted by the Committee, and anything else that contributes to improving and enhancing the marine mammal protected area "community of practice".
Please spread the word about this Twitter feed, and use it respectfully... our only goal is to provide a way to get your feedback and to give the delegates a way of connecting with each other through social media.
Remember - all you have to do is us the hashtag #ICMMPA3 on your tweets!
“Important Marine Mammal Areas - A Sense of Place, A Question of Size"
Welcome to the webpage of the 3rd International Conference on Marine Mammal Protected Areas (ICMMPA 3).
The International Committee on Marine Mammal Protected Areas, our sponsors and partners are delighted to extend an invitation to you to participate and experience the conference to be held at the Stamford Grand Adelaide in the beachside city of Glenelg, South Australia from November 9 – 11, 2014. The conference is a parallel event of the IUCN World Parks Congress (WPC), held over three days right before the WPC begins.
The ICMMPA conferences serve as an important forum for Marine Mammal Protected Area practitioners. ICMMPA 3 will focus on the challenges and strategies of managing very large and very small marine mammal protected areas. Like the first two conferences ICMMPA 3 will highlight workshops, panels and open forum discussions to emphasize collaboration, communication and networking among MMPA practitioners. It is expected that more than 200 participants will attend the meeting.
The ICMMPA 3 Program has recently been updated and can be viewed here. Please make sure to visit this page regularly to view up-to-date conference information.
