Workshop 1 - Delivery of data with the digital technologies curriculm 

Half Day Session: 8.00am – 11.30am

Workshop Overview
With the introduction of the new ACARA accredited Digital Technologies curriculum teachers are required to incorporate data (representation, collection, management and analysis of data) into the classroom. 

This half day workshop is designed to introduce teachers to
  • Resources available via the Open Data Institute Queensland (odiqueensland.org.au) 
  • Activities utilising data that align with the curriculum
  • Use of data across the curriculum
  • The scope of where and how data is used across the community
Workshop 2 - Design, new technologies and future landscapes
Half-day session: 1.00pm – 4.30pm
Location:  Queensland College of Art, Griffith University, Southbank Campus, Webb Centre Building (S02), Level 4, Room 4.36
Cost: $190.00

Workshop Overview
As Queensland rolls out the new ACARA accredited Digital Technologies and Design and Technologies curriculums, teachers need not only a depth of understanding of technology but also the capability to implement even more content in an already crowded curriculum. Using the latest in STEAM (Science Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) practices, this half-day workshop will train teachers in design thinking skills, provide a short introduction into wearable electronics, and show how together they can be used in cross-curricular contexts to allow teachers to meet the challenges of 2016 and beyond. Presented by experts in design, technology and interdisciplinetertiary and high school education, this workshop will have 3 topics:
  • Future Trends and design thinking
  • Wearable and Interactive 
  • Electronics- Cross-Curricular Applications
Workshop 3 - Making the most of Adobe in the Classroom
Half day session: 1:00pm to 4:00pm
Location:
Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre
Cost: $100 inc GST per person 
What to bring: To make the most of this workshop, bring a laptop, tablet device, phone, power cable, mouse & headphones with the following Adobe applications installed:
  • For laptops - Photoshop CC, Muse, Acrobat Pro DC, Adobe Presenter Video Express, InDesign, Premier Pro (these can be download as a 30 day trial version if not already provided by the school).
  • For iOS - Adobe Voice, Slate, Clip, Post & Capture (all free)
  • For Android - Adobe Clip, Acrobat DC, Adobe Capture CC
Workshop Overview
Adobe make the world’s best and industry standard digital creativity tools. With about 100 Adobe applications and services it is often hard to know what is best for teachers and students.  This workshop/presentation will provide hands on activities in image manipulation, video production, document design and web publication with a wide range of laptop/desktop Adobe tools as well as the freely available Adobe apps for iOS and Android. Practical ideas and examples of best practise from around the world will be shared by Dr Tim Kitchen who after over 20 years as a classroom teacher in primary, secondary & Higher Ed is now Adobe’s Senior Education Specialist for Asia Pacific.
